Time change for Reno vintage race car parade

corvette-paradeSelect vintage race cars from the field of 100 competing in the Reno Historic Races May 1-3 at the Reno-Fernley Raceway, will parade through downtown Reno Thursday, April 30 starting at 4:30 p.m.

While the historic race cars will hit speeds of up to 185 MPH on the track, they’ll travel a bit slower on their parade route from the National Automobile Museum parking lot on the corner of Mill and Lake streets, through downtown to be showcased in front of the West Street Market.

The racecars will remain downtown until 8 p.m. as part of the Reno River walk District’s first Art Walk.

The Reno Historic Races, now in its 6th year, is honoring Corvettes with Grand Marshall Bob Bondurant.

The National Automobile Museum, The Harrah Collection, which benefits from a portion of the sale of race tickets, will have a booth near the racecar display.

Race tickets are $12 each for the public and $10 each for museum members. The group rate for five or more tickets is $10 each. Children age 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets are good for all three days.
