The_Discovery-Styrobot_Challenge2A 30-foot tall robot made of reclaimed Styrofoam was recently constructed in the lobby at the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum (The Discovery). The robot, called a “Styrobot,” invites visitors of all ages to participate in the museum’s Styrobot Challenge.

Using solely reclaimed Styrofoam packing material and glue, participants can create their own Styrobot of any shape or size in this fun, at home challenge. In addition to first, second and third place prizes, there will also be a people’s choice award (first place winner receives a one-year Family Fun membership (or renewal) to The Discovery—see website for a list of other prizes).

All entries in the Styrobot Challenge will be on display at The Discovery from December 21, 2013 to January 11, 2014.
