Tigé MYWAKE Global Challenge

Wakeboarders, wakeskaters and wakesurfers compete against the rest of the world based on video footage of their riding.  Riders submit videos of themselves competing on wakeboard during June/July/August on their home turf.  Each month, judges from the Pro Wakeboard Tour will select the best riders in 20+ divisions.  Those winners are then invited to compete in the live event at the Sparks Marina.  2012 was the first year of this format and the finale was held in Orlando; about 50 finalists competed for the overall title.  The 2013 event has been expanded to include finalists in all age divisions as well as the men’s and women’s pros from around the world – 125 athletics are anticipated.   This is a made-for-media event and will be heavily promoted online.  It will also feature a live webcast and will be covered by Wakeboard Magazine – there is not a television broadcast component.  They will tentatively use JA Nugget as the event host hotel, due to World Sports & Marketing’s previous relationship with them for the Pro Wakeboard Tour.

Friday – amateurs compete

Saturday/Sunday – pros compete

Adventure Sports Week Tahoe

Long known as a premier outdoor haven, North Lake Tahoe will capitalize on its famed natural terrain to host the 2nd Annual Adventure Sports Week Tahoe Friday, June 15 through Sunday, June 24.

1_tahoelogoThe 10-day festival invites outdoor enthusiasts to participate in competitive events ranging from stand up paddle boarding to trail running, mountain biking, triathlons and swimming – all of which highlight Tahoe’s scenic beauty.

According to Event Director Todd Jackson of Adventure Sports Week Tahoe, in addition to the sporting events, designed for the beginner to the professional, the festivities will also include clinics hosted by world-class athletes and Lake Tahoe locals who know area trails firsthand. Each night of Adventure Sports Week Tahoe will wrap up with a variety of activities, including live concerts, outdoor movies and dinner on the lake. There’s even a kid-friendly component with fun and games geared for little ones.

“Adventure Sports Week Tahoe is for those who appreciate clean air, clear water, scenic single track and an elevated heart rate,” said Jackson. “We live in one of the world’s top outdoor playgrounds and it’s time to celebrate our passion for adventure.”
