The Reno-Tahoe International Airport’s impressive makeover continues…

First the ticketing area, then the baggage claim, and now the Reno-Tahoe International Airport will unveil its new security checkpoint and shopping/dining area. The $27 million in improvements embraces the natural look and feel of the Sierra Mountains.

Passengers will experience a new way to fly with the opening of the Security Checkpoint on the first floor, additional queuing and screening lanes, and new state-of-the-art technology.  Once through security, passengers will be able to flow from one concourse to another and enjoy a whole new safer and secure passenger experience.

The new Food Court will be built in a dramatic new airport venue on the second floor, just past the escalators.  The post-security, 21,000 square foot addition will feature 18-foot ceilings and windows looking out over the tarmac.  Passengers will dine with a panoramic view of arriving and departing aircraft against a desert mountain backdrop.

From outdoor clothing, to high tech electronic items, customers will find a wider selection of stores and products.

It’s time to celebrate. The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino will unveil their $25 million in renovations, August 25, at the BE GRAND party. Guest will notice the new look right when they step into the main entrance; featuring, the original chandelier from the MGM Hotel and Casino, lounge-style seating, and five LCD, flat-screen televisions, highlighting a number of Reno Tahoe adventures visitors can explore just outside their walls.

UPGRADES

The lobby area has upgraded carpet, and brand new check-in counters, decked out in Sierra Rubbed Bronze, Elliptical Rubbed Bronze, and Sierra Brushed Aluminum laminates.

Another noticeable change, WET, is Reno’s new premier ultra-lounge and bar, located right at the heart of the casino floor.  Flair bartenders mix up some of the Biggest Little City’s most intricate and exquisite cocktails, while live music, ranging from DJs to cover bands, fills the air.

Finally, Reno’s tequila market just got hotter with the opening of Cantina and it’s exclusive selection of over 115 tequilas.  From Justin Timberlake’s 901 to Cabo Wabo Reposado, the Mexican small plate cuisine restaurant provides an authentic and exclusive experience that’s unique to the Northern Nevada area.
