The Reno Leprechaun Crawl is March 14, starting at 8 pm. Grab your festive St. Patrick’s Day costume and an official crawl cup to see what the downtown Reno bar scene has to offer. The WinterWonderGrass Festival is March 20-22 in Squaw Valley. This winter bluegrass music and craft beer festival will feature 15+ brands and 12 California breweries. Headliners include Trampled by Turtles, Greensky Bluegrass, The Infamous Stringdusters and Elephant Revival, and more.

College Week at Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort is March 23-27 and March 30-April 3. With valid college ID, students can hit the mountain by getting an all day lift pass for only $62. On March 24 and 31, enjoy live music and happy hour specials after a long day on the slopes at the resort’s Locals Après Hour at the Sierra Pub.

The next Reno Beer Crawl is March 28, starting at 2 pm in downtown Reno. $5 gets you a commemorative beer crawl glass, a wristband, map of participating vendors and $1 6 oz beer refills (6 oz is equal to half a beer!!)

LEX Nightclub- Reno’s newest nightclub at the Grand Sierra Resort  is open Thursday through Saturday from 8 pm to 4 am. LEX will be hosting djs DVBBS on March 13 and 3LAU on March 21. Tickets for these events, as well as guest list and table services are available online.

The Brew Brothers- One of Reno’s most popular downtown bars is located inside the Eldorado Hotel Casino. Every day from 2 to 5 pm is Happy Hour. Every Thursday the bar has live djs and $7 wristbands for all you can drink Brew Brother’s beer from 10 pm to midnight for Student Body Thursdays.

The Monster Jam will be coming to the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center March 13-15. Tickets for the world’s largest monster truck tour range from $27 for adults and $12 for kids ages 2-12.

The 68th Annual Shrine Circus will be at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center March 20-22. Bring the whole family to see elephants, exotic animals, trapeze, motorcycles, clowns, face painting and more. Proceeds from the circus will benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Tickets are $12 for kids under 12 and $14 for adults.

Nevada Museum of Art- The Reno located museum is currently featuring exhibitions such as Aboriginal Australian Contemporary Abstract Paintings, Victoria Sambunaris’ Taxonomy of a Landscape, Dave Eggers’ Insufferable Throne of God, and many more. The Hands On! Second Saturdays event offers free admission for everyone to the museum and free activities like art projects and storytelling. Upcoming dates include March 14 and April 11.

Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum- Also known as “The Discovery,” this Reno located museum offers hands-on art, history, nature and science exploration for kids. Current interactive exhibits include Truckee Connects, Nevada Stories, Da Vinci’s Corner, and more. Admission to the museum is $8 for adults and children, Wednesdays after 4 pm, admission is just $4!

Let the Good Times Roll – Mardi Gras 2015 in Reno Tahoe

Fat Tuesday feasts and Mardi Gras merriments are underway in Reno Tahoe. Come hungry, come thirsty, and come prepared for a wild weekend. Laissez les bons temps rouler! Let the good times roll!

Tuesday, February 17th, starting at 6 pm, the Rotary Club of Reno is having its 23rd annual Reno Mardi Gras Food, Wine & Spirits event inside the Reno Ballroom, located on Center Street. Guests come dressed in festive Mardi Gras attire and will experience live music and a spread of food from local restaurants and can indulge in drinks from more than two dozen wineries. There will also be a silent auction with a large variety of prizes. Funds raised will benefit local community programs. Tickets are $50 and can be bought through renorotaryclub.org.

Saturday February 21, starting at 8 pm, the Sands Regency is hosting its own Mardi Gras event which will include face painting, live performers and music from CZ and the Bon Vivants, and drawings with winnings of $500 cash!

Mt. Rose Ski Resort is also gearing up to host a Fat Tuesday Mardis Gras Party on the deck of the Main Lodge on Tuesday, February 17 from 11:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. featuring live music by the Bourgeois Gypsies and food and drink specials including traditional “hurricanes,” Fat Tire beer specials, and Cajun burgers.There will be a Mardi Gras industry party at 9 p.m. on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 17, at The Brew Brothers with a $250 cash prize awarded to the person with the most beads and sounds by DJ Chris English and Montague.

Tuesday February 17th, Northstar California Resort is hosting a Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras event. The Saint Gabriel Celestial Brass Band will play on the Village stage from 1-4 pm. At Tavern 6330’ there will be a Fat Tuesday Whiskey Dinner with a five-course southern/ New Orleans inspired menu with accompanying whiskey for each dish, tickets are $85. If you can’t make the Fat Tuesday events, there is free Mardi Gras Mask Face Painting by Giggle & Grin Face and Body Art from February 14-17th onsite.

Get Ready for the Year of the Goat!

While the Gregorian New Year has already come and gone, the Chinese New Year won’t take place until February 19. 2015 is the Year of the Goat, which is predicted to be a year of well-being and prosperity. Several Reno resorts are hosting special events and dining options to celebrate the Year of the Goat.

The Eldorado Resort Casino is excited to celebrate Chinese New Year with you! The Buffet will have traditional Chinese plates on the 19th through the 24, including ginger sauce crab, five-spice shrimp, and roast duck, as well as Chinese roast pig every night. As part of the celebration the White Crane Lion Dancers will be giving multiple performances on February 14-16 and February 21-22. The Chinese Lion Dance is an important part of Chinese culture and is a tradition that has been around for more than a thousand years. The White Crane Lion Dance will make its way through the entire casino so that everyone has a chance to see. On Sunday, February 15 William So and Edmond Leung will be performing a concert a the Downtown Reno Ballroom.

Silver Legacy Resort Casino is another place to go for Chinese New Year festivities. The celebration begins a the Silver Legacy on February 15 when the entire resort gets decorated in colorful, elaborate decor, and ends on March 7. Leung’s White Crane Dance Association will be performing the Chinese Lion Dance through the Silver Legacy resort as well on February 14, 15, 16, 21, and 22. Many of their eateries will feature special Chinese menus, and Flavors! the Buffet will prepare a buffet featuring Chinese specialties every weekend during the celebration. There will also be a Karaoke show during the celebration, and Silver Legacy is also encouraging guests to attend the performance by William So and Edmund Leung in the Reno Ballroom on February 15.

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa will celebrate the Chinese New Year  on February 28, with an all-you-care-to-eat buffet featuring traditional Chinese dishes and an incredible comedy and magic show starring Mike Toy. Where to Watch the Big Game on February 1

Every football lover’s favorite Sunday is almost here. Save yourself the hassle of making sure you have enough game day snacks  your own viewing party and head to one of Reno’s resorts for a football experience you won’t forget!

Silver Legacy Resort Casino’s Big Game Party is opening its doors at 2:30 on the 1st before the game begins at 3:30. The afternoon will consist of an all-you-can-eat buffet, fantastic raffle prizes, and a souvenir hat, along with getting to watch the biggest game of the year with other fans.

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa will be hosting their Big Bowl Bash for the XLIX game. There will be food specials, Pigskin Pool, Hot Seat prizes, special proposition bets, more comps, and party action throughout the entire casino. The Big Bowl Bash will also be giving guests the chance to win $100,000 and other prizes by placing a bet on the game.

Eldorado Resort Casino will be host the 2015 NFL Championship party in their Broadway-style theater. Tickets for a reserved seat include a beverage, a stadium food idem, and a souvenir hat. There may also be appearances by former NFL players such as Frank Hawkins, Dan McGwire, Quinn Early, and Glenn Carano. The Eldorado’s Stadium Bar will also be celebrating the game with 35 plasma TVs and food and drink specials. The Prime Rib Grill and Cin Cin will also be hosting parties starting at 2:30. The Brew Brothers and Millies 24 will also have plenty of screens to show the game.

Peppermill Reno’s Big Game Blitz in the Tuscany Event Center is another great football celebration. Watch the game and fill up at the all-you-can-eat buffet featuring stadium food. A ticket to the Big Game Blitz includes a complimentary mug and t-shirt, unlimited Bud and Bud Light at every table, photo ops, and exciting door prizes throughout the game.

Grand Sierra Resort and Casino is opening up their doors to the Big Game Bash in the Silver State Pavilion. Ticket prices include two free drinks, stadium food in their all-you-can-eat buffet, and game viewing on their giant screen.

Ring in 2015 with Reno Tahoe!

Reno Tahoe is wrapping up 2014 and beginning 2015 with a bang. Various locations around town are pulling out all the stops to celebrate the new year in a big way!

The Eldorado Resort Casino will ring in the new year with rollicking parties throughout the property, countdowns and Champagne toasts, plenty of celebratory party hats and favors handed out on the casino floor and a spectacular downtown fireworks show at midnight. Downtown Reno will be aglow as tens of thousands of revelers pack downtown Reno for the nonstop, 15-minute fireworks show. Hundreds of sparkling pyrotechnics will be shot off and there will be spectacular viewing from every angle.

The Nugget will be offering New Year’s meals at all of their restaurants, and the Celebrity Showroom will feature dinner and a show with live entertainment. In the casino there will be a free champagne toast and a countdown to midnight, complete with party favors.

Peppermill has a number of events going on the ring in the New Year. The Capri Ballroom Party starts at 9:30 pm on December 31. Come dance to the sounds of Maxxt Outt, who will be performing live. At midnight there will be party favors,

a balloon drop, and a champagne toast. In The Terrace the Inciters, an 11-piece Northern Soul band, will be performing live. On the casino floor, the party keeps going with free champagne and festive party favors from 8 pm to 12:30 am. EDGE nightspot will host their Tick Tock NYE party with DJ Four Color Zack. Many Peppermill eateries will be serving special New Year’s menus to make your night of celebration complete.

Circus Circus Reno is planning a night of free live music with Escalade, free party favors, and fireworks at midnight. Some Circus Circus eateries, such as The Steakhouse at Circus, Courtyard Buffet, and Americana Café, will be offering New Year’s menus throughout the day. Grand Sierra Resort and Casino’s LEX Nightclub will be partying the night away at The Black Tie Affair. This “exquisite night of celebration” will feature sounds by Enfo and Nick Ferrer. Ticket options include general admission entry at 10 pm or early admission, which grants you access to an open bar from 8 pm to 10 pm.

Silver Legacy Resort Casino Reno will be hosting their New Year’s Even Rockin’ the Dome Dance Party starting at 10 pm on December 31. The night will include a drinks, party favors, live performance by DJ Kentot, champagne toast at midnight, fireworks, and one big party in the Silver Baron Ballroom all night long.

Cargo will be playing host to Apple Z on December 31. This “shiny new band” is composed of multiple music veterans from a wide range of genres. Their collective experience in all types of performance arenas has allowed them to rethink and remake timeless popular music. Tickets for this Cargo event can be purchased at the front desk of Whitney Peak Hotel or by calling (775) 398-5400. Whitney Peak Hotel will have a special New Year’s package for all guests. The package, which is priced at $250, features a Deluxe Room, full-course Chef’s Table dinner and champagne at Heritage Restaurant, two tickets to the Apple Z show in Cargo, and a bottle of champagne in your room.

Reno’s Knitting Factory and Amplified Entertainment present Amplified DJ’s for their New Year’s Eve celebration. Starting at 10:00 pm, party the night away to great music at one of Reno’s most popular concert houses. The Knitting Factory is 18 and over and has a full bar for visitors 21 and older.

Heavenly Lake Tahoe is also throwing a New Years bash. Head to the Village at 6:00 pm for a night of fun and celebration. The event will include games, a performance by The Fire Groove dancers, a photo booth, face painting, live music by Wes Quave, ice sculpting by “Fear-No-Ice”, and a fireworks show and a Gondola Ball Drop at 9:00 pm (in unison with the Ball Drop in New York City’s Time Square). Guests are then encouraged to spend the rest of the night and ring in 2015 at some of Lake Tahoe’s many casinos, bars, and clubs.

The Bounce Festival and Bass Heavy are teaming up for another New Year’s Eve event at Tahoe Biltmore. Starting at 8pm head up to the lake for music and entertainment from acts such as LNR, Smasheltooth, and Andrew the Pirate. Get ready to dance the night (and 2014) away and celebrate the New Year with such a unique show. Check out their event page on Facebook for more information.

Snowglobe Music Festival will be held at the Lake Tahoe Community College Campus Deember 29 – 31. Spend a few days up at the Lake listening and dancing along to some of the best DJs and artists around. The lineup includes major acts like Disclosure, Skrillex, Phantogram, Cherub, and many more. 3-day tickets have already sold out, but single-day tickets and shuttle passes are still available.

At VEX Nightclub at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe you can celebrate New Years Eve at a party featuring DJ Rockwell. Hats and party favors will be provided, along with complimentary champagne for all VIPs. Doors open at 9 pm and dance acts will perform throughout the night until 1 am. Andreotti’s at Harrah’s will be hosting a New Year’s Eve drinks and four-course dinner (view the menu here), along with live performances by local musicians Pier Perotti and Corky Bennett.

If you’re looking for a place in Reno to watch the firework display and countdown to midnight, head to the streets of downtown for a 15 minute show taking place from multiple casino rooftops. The main crowd of party-goers will join under and around the Reno Arch to watch the display, so be sure to watch the display put on by Circus Circus Hotel Casino, Eldorado Resort Casino, Silver Legacy Resort Casino, and the City of Reno! Countdown to 2015 and send 2014 out with a bang! After the main event, keep the party going and head out to the plethora of local bars that are within walking distance from the Reno Arch and Downtown.

$25 Million in Renovations at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino

It’s time to celebrate. The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino will unveil their $25 million in renovations, August 25, at the BE GRAND party. Guest will notice the new look right when they step into the main entrance; featuring, the original chandelier from the MGM Hotel and Casino, lounge-style seating, and five LCD, flat-screen televisions, highlighting a number of Reno Tahoe adventures visitors can explore just outside their walls.

Finally, Reno’s tequila market just got hotter with the opening of Cantina and it’s exclusive selection of over 115 tequilas.  From Justin Timberlake’s 901 to Cabo Wabo Reposado, the Mexican small plate cuisine restaurant provides an authentic and exclusive experience that’s unique to the Northern Nevada area.
