Winter Survival Techniques Workshop at Galena Creek

Galena SnowIt’s always best to be properly prepared for a day in the great outdoors, and even more so during the winter. Galena Creek Visitor Center is pleased to present a workshop on winter wilderness survival. Park Ranger John Keesee will be presenting a workshop on how to safely enjoy our snowbound open spaces this year.

 

This winter, come prepared! Tell your family and friends, and come to the visitor center on Saturday, January 22 from 2-4 p.m. as Park Ranger John Keesee will shares tips, anecdotes and stories on how and why to prepare for a day in the outdoors. There will be an opportunity at the end of the presentation to speak with Ranger John and ask him your questions. Coffee and refreshments will be provided. While you’re here, you may also want to take in our new exhibits, or do a bit of shopping at our gift store.

The Galena Creek Visitor Center is managed by Washoe County Regional Parks & Open Space under a special use permit from the US Forest Service. Great Basin Institute operates the Visitor Center, provides volunteers and staff, and offers educational programming for visitors of all ages.
