Sparks will Fly in Reno Tahoe on Valentine’s Day 2015

Take a romantic getaway to Reno Tahoe and celebrate Valentine’s Day with loved ones, friends and family.

If your ideal outfit for going out on Valentine’s Day is your PJs, you’re not alone. Join Crawl Reno for their Valentine’s Pajama Crawl. Crawl to 10 different bars in downtown Reno in your coziest set of PJ’s starting at 8 pm at Waterfall. Don’t forget to purchase your crawl cup ahead of time at Junkee Clothing Exchange or on the night of the event at Waterfall. The night will be filled with drink specials and costume contests, so suit up in your bedtime best and have some fun!

Ice Skating is always the perfect Valentine’s Day activity! Grab a date and head to the Reno Aces Ballpark to get out on the rink. Be sure to dress warm, however, because its cold on the ice! The rink is open until 11:15 pm on Saturdays. This great new location means that you can extend your date by hitting up one of downtown Reno’s great bars and restaurants. Some local favorites for date-night dining are Campo, Beaujolais Bistro, and The Chocolate Bar.

Peppermill Reno will be offering up many Valentine’s Day menus for the perfect romantic dinner. Bimini Steakhouse will have special menu items such as open face Maine lobster ravioli and chocolate duo creme brulee, for example, but many other Peppermill Reno eateries will also be serving romantic dishes.

Grand Sierra Resort and Casino’s A Valentine’s Affair will feature a show by R&B artist Color Me Badd, as well as performances by Legaci and Chikezie Okorie. The show will take place on February 14 at the Summit Pavilion.

At the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa guests will be treated to a four-course dinner and dancing featuring live music from Michael B. Levin as Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. Along with complimentary champagne, the Valentine’s menu will include items such as filet mignon with wild mushroom demi-glace and a heart-shaped raspberry and chocolate torte for dessert.

Alpine Meadows is getting in on the Valentine’s Day action by hosting a Moonlit Snowshoe Tour and Dinner for February 14. Guests will take a snowshoe tour up to the moonlit Chalet at Alpine Meadows. Here guests will be served dinner that will feature Alps-inspired items such as chicken cordon bleu and apple strudel. The snowshoe tour will be dark and cold, but the view of the starry night sky will take your breath away! Visit their website to make reservations.

Northstar California will have lots of Valentine’s Day events happening throughout the entire weekend. Starting at 10:30 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday the Cupid’s Course Valentine’s Fun Race will take off. Skiers and riders of all levels are invited to race at their EpicMix Race Venue. The first 150 racers will receive a Northstar Valentine’s Day pin, and 50% of all race fees collected will be donated to the Tahoe SAFE Alliance. For love birds who are looking to take full advantage of this romantic day, join Northstar California and many others for a group wedding ceremony at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The ceremony will be complimentary for anyone who wants to renew their vows, be married for the first time, or profess their love! After the ceremony all couples are invited to the Cabana Bars for a celebration in The Village at Northstar where there will be drink specials and live music. On Saturday and Sunday look out for hidden prizes in the village and up on the mountain as part of the Valentine’s Scavenger Hunt. Continue the romantic day with a Star Gazing Snowshoe Tour. Trek through the starry forest and receive a laser tour of the stars and constellations, a telescopic viewing of the night sky, and end with some wine or hot cider around a fire pit.
