Camel, Ostrich and Zebra Racing – Jockeys Unite

The Virginia City International Camel Races are in their 54th year! This annual tradition features camel, ostrich and zebra racing as jockeys from around the globe converge to compete for trophies and bragging rights. This on-of-a kind event takes place atop a historic mining quarry and promises to be a weekend full of fun and laughs.

It all started with a Tall Tale from a newspaper man! And here we are 54 years later and still living up to the Legend. Come and see these extraordinary animals race in the desert sand! Each day races will start at High Noon.

Beat the traffic and take the travel bus from Summit Sierra Mall to downtown Virginia City. Bus leaves Summit Sierra Mall at 10am and Virginia City at 4:30pm. Pick up / drop off location at Virginia City will be the Delta Parking lot next to the Bucket of Blood Saloon. Pick up / drop off location at Summit Sierra Mall to be at TBA. $25 round trip   Click here to purchase your tickets
