National Championship Air Races taking off Bigger than ever in 2014

The runway has  cleared, and all systems are ready. Prepare for takeoff in 3…2…1…AND THEY’RE OFF!

The National Championship Air Races of Reno Nevada plans to return this September with more music, more buzz, and of course more planes!

The Reno Air Racing Association has revamped many of its planning strategies allowing for more efficiency, effectiveness, and creativity for the 51st event. These changes allow spectators to experience not just a few races, but a “full festival of flight.” Attendees will enjoy more interactive exhibits, more live music, and more racing events.

The 51stannual event is the only closed course pylon racing event in the world, and is the world’s longest running air race. Six different race plane classes battle just 60 feet from the ground, with the Unlimited and Jet classes reaching speeds over 500 mph! Besides the on-your-feet action of the races, spectators have close-up access to racing aircraft, pilots and crews in the “pits.” There’s a world-class air show, military display and demonstrations, aircraft display and great concessions. Experience the action of the “World’s Fastest Motorsport”!
