Konnichi wa from Japan

Konnichi wa from Japan,
Well as you read in the last blog I’m in Japan and it has been amazing.  I love this place because the scenery is amazing, the sushi is great, the course is really difficult and the crowds are large.  The only thing that hasn’t been great this week is the weather.  It has been all over the place, snowing, raining, foggy, beautiful sunshine, slush, ice, even a few inches of powder.  Yesterday the competition ran smoothly with the American team doing well.  I was the second American female finisher at 7th, with my teammate Michelle finishing 2nd.  As for the men, an American Nathan Roberts was 1st and another American Jay was 2nd.  As for today for the duals competition, 17 men were able to finish there run before the fog rolled in and shut it down until 4:00pm at which time they were able to finish the men.  As for the women our training started at 4:45 and went until 5:15 then unfortunately the sun went down and they ended up cancelling the event.  I’m super bummed because the course was perfect but it probably would have been a little difficult to see considering there are no lights and the sunset was really pretty.  Anyway, just going to have to save it for next week.  We leave here tomorrow and are heading straight to Apex, Canada- so I will keep you posted.
Thanks again Reno/Tahoe for all of your support!!!!!
Will write soon.
Shelly
