Update from World Cup Tour
Hello Reno,
Hope everyone is having a great winter! I have been busy traveling on the World Cup tour and so far it has been going really well. Two weeks ago we were in Mt. Gabriel, Canada, where we skied in pouring rain for a week. Although, I honestly wasn’t complaining because usually it is negative 30 below this time of year and I will take warm rain over freezing cold any day. Anyway, there I skied a great first run and then made a huge mistake in finals to finish 10th. Then last week we were in Deer Valley where the first day I came back from 15th to finish 7th which I was proud of considering it was such a difficult course and I had some really hard crashes during training. And finally the last event was the night event in Deer Valley where we skied under the lights in freezing cold temperature with an amazing crowd- I attached a picture.- it was pretty cool. All of Deer Valley will be televised on NBC on Jan. 20th if you want to check it out.
As for what’s next, Lake Placid was supposed to be this next week but it has been canceled due to lack of snow and it looks like the following competition in Europe is going to be canceled for the same reason. So I’m looking forward to skiing Tahoe for at least the next week or two- whoohoo! Hope to see you on the hill and thanks everyone for supporting skiing!
